Tips for Measuring - Always get someone else to measure you. Tie a ribbon around the waist, this will go to the natural waistline, you can then use this as a guide for other measurements. Measure over a thin layer of clothing, or underwear (best to wear the underwear you would wear with the garment). Keep the measuring tape straight all the way round.
A - Bust - Measure all the way around the bust parallel to the bust points.
B - Underbust - Measure all the way around underneath the bust
C - Waist - Measure all the way around where you have tied the ribbon, this will be your natural waist.
D - Hips - Measure all the way around the fullest part of your hips, from a side profile this will be the fullest part of the buttocks.
E - Waist to Hip - Measure from the natural waistline to the fullest part of your hip.
F - Waist to skirt length - Measure from the waistline to the length you want the dress/skirt to be (make sure you stand up straight).
G - Nape to waist - Measure from the base of neck (small bone) to the waistline.
H - Cross back armhole - Measure across the back between where armhole seams of garment would be.
I - Cross front armhole - Measure across the front between where armhole seams of garment would be.
J - Bust level - Measure from centre top of shoulder (just above collar bone) to the bust point.
K - Sleeve length - Measure from top of shoulder (where seam for sleeve would be) to the length you want the sleeve, bending the arm when you get to the elbow.
L - Bicep - Measure around the fullest part of the upper arm.
